Some may call it penis envy, others call it keeping up with the Jones’s. If we compare ourselves to those who are not us we are really not making a comparison, we are defeating ourselves before we take to the field.
So many times I’ve looked at other peoples podcasts, painting, musicianship and I’ve thought damn, I’m not that good. Then people around me say, damn how do you juggle all the things in your life, full-time job, twins, stepped, podcasts, writing painting etc and I tell them it how I’m programmed.
Tell me something is impossible and I want to find a way around it. I may never find it, but I’ll keep looking and trying. For me, it is called tenacity. Maybe that will be the 12th topic idea for the podcast.
I have been told so many times that I’m not good enough, I’m not the right person, so I’ve made myself the right person. I heard something profound on Art of Manliness today, if we want to improve we need to know where we are and where we want to go, that’s how GPS works.
I’m looking up my coordinates, I’m going to make decisions on where I want to go. I’m not looking at the car passing me by, I’ve probably been on the road 12 hours l9nger than that guy.
