Pivot Points

Getting ready for #NAPOWRIMO next month. It’s weird but poetry was my first love in terms of creation and here I am 2 weeks away from 30 poems in 30 days scared stuff, not knowing if the muse will strike.

I don’t want to totally rely on me just jumping right back into this, I’m reading more poetry through The Paris Review and looking for some good stuff out there. I think the drive for me to do this exercise again is to bring back some of the more positive things I’ve done in the past 30 years. Yeah, it’s been 30 years since I put poetry on the map for me. I’m sure there will be a lot of looking back and longing for simpler times, but with age comes the realization that the good old times may not have been that good, in fact, the good old timed don’t include my greatest creation that’s still in progress, my children and my relationship with my wife.

Feel free to comment, like it dislike. Next month you will see how I work, it’s not pretty and I usually don’t clean up the work after it’s done. Prepare to get messy with me. I challenge you to give it a try. It is challenging but rewarding. I’d be honored to read whatever you place in front of me.

Cheers friends
